This website is a department of the Dartington Hall Trust run in collaboration with the Association of Directors of Children's Services and the University of Sheffield. Making Appropriate Parenting Arrangements in Family Violence Cases: Applying the Literature to Identify Promising Practices
This report is divided into sections that provide an overview of the literature on family violence followed by sections on post-separation parenting arrangements in cases involving family violence. The reader is provided with a model for a paradigm shift in regards to assessment and intervention strategies in cases of family violence and child-related parental disputes. A model for best practice is outlined in the text together with a summary diagram to illustrate the host of factors to consider in matching parenting arrangements to families in which violence is a factor.

Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence – a research center within the Institute of Behavioral Science at the University of Colorado at Boulder

Blueprints for Violence Prevention, a project of CSPV, systematically and continuously reviews the research on violence to identify programs which are exemplary and grounded in evidence.  It has assessed more than 900 programs to date. Prevention programs are evaluated as 'model programs' and 'promising programs' using the selection criteria of evidence of deterrent effect with a strong research design, sustained effects and multiple site replication.

Evidence-based practices for children exposed to violence : a selection from federal databases

This report summarises findings from a review of US research studies and program evaluations to identify more than 50 evidence-based or promising practices in interventions for children affected by domestic violence. The report includes matrix outlining details for each program, a glossary of terms and a brief summary of service characteristics.
