Call for survey participants - Disasters and Domestic Violence

The Australian Domestic and Family Violence Clearinghouse, a project of the Centre for Gender Related Violence Studies at the University of New South Wales, invites workers to participate in an online survey about their experiences of responding to clients affected by domestic violence, during and after a disaster in Australia.

Gone Too Soon: A report into youth suicide in the Northern Territory

The Select Committee on Youth Suicides in the Northern Territory has released its report. It contains 23 recommendations designed to reduce the youth suicide rate which is currently 3.5 times the national average. Among its proposals are an increase in deployment of Youth Engagement Police Officers, provision of youth development and community development officers throughout NT and the creation of an NT Suicide Prevention Coordination Committee.

Hidden Exploitation: Women in forced labour, marriage and migration

This report explores the gaps and emerging issues in labour rights for women and girls, particularly those who are in transit, have been forced to migrate or who are trafficked. It also reports on incidents of forced marriage in Australia, an increasingly common but hidden phenomenon in the community.
